Guidebook

A comprehensive new guidebook is available on Mirador which will be published in the coming year. The 100 page guidebook is an excellent resource for anyone visiting Mirador. The guidebook contains detailed sections with important information on the following areas:

  • Inside Mirador-An introduction to the history of Mirador, the restoration process and the challenges that the area faces.
  • Archaeological Sites-Information on itineraries for hikers, maps of the different sites and detailed site guides to each of the six major sites in Mirador (El Mirador, Nakbe, La Florida, Tintal, Wakna and Xulnal).
  • On the Road-Planning your trip, information on outfitters and lodging, packing lists
  • Guide to the Ancient Maya-This section has information on important aspects of ancient Maya society, such as: trade, jade, monuments, building technology, the Maya calendar, Maya writing, etc.
